Why Financial Planning?

I have the best job. It’s the perfect mix of helping people, creative problem-solving, history, current events, finance, psychology, and leadership skills, with the amazing benefit and responsibility of being valued and trusted by clients.

My passion for this work isn't just academic; it's forged from my own life experiences. I know what financial vulnerability feels like, with my schoolteacher mother raising my brother and I after our father left. I learned the value of true diversification during the global financial crisis of 2007-2008. And I’ve felt the profound pain of seeing a future cut short, losing my father-in-law to cancer

These experiences, combined with seeing too many people failed by "advisors" who put commissions ahead of clients, solidified my mission. This is why I love financial planning: I’m able to be there for clients through the good times and the bad. I know what it feels like to need someone who truly understands your story, your values, and your money, and who helps you make decisions to live the life you love.

My experience also taught me that tomorrow is never promised. We ideally shouldn't wait until "retirement" to do what we love. Financial planning is a beautiful combination of the technical and the emotional. It’s an art that must be wrought—crafted with artistry and care—to balance investing in and experiencing life now, while still setting yourself up for financial security in the future. This philosophy is the reason I founded Wrought Financial Planning and the human intersection between money and life is what drives me.

What is Andrew like outside of work?

I am a husband and a Dad. You will often find my wife and I involved in or supporting our girls’ sports teams or school activities. When we have vacation time, we love to travel as a family. My favorite trip as a family (so far!) was to Italy but Kauai might take the prize as the most beautiful place I’ve seen.

I enjoy being active and outdoors. For the past 11 years, I’ve run the 10-mile Philadelphia Broad Street Run. I also took up golf a few years ago and love the physical and mental challenge. I enjoy being handy at home, skills I learned from my father-in-law, and I'm proud my enthusiasm for building has passed on to my girls. You can usually find us playing Legos together which also mine the path to my home office.

I love my community and each Wednesday you’ll find me at a meeting for the Rotary Club of Haddonfield (currently the VP). We support local and international non-profits with grants, award college and vocational scholarships to deserving students, and provide for the less fortunate. This is my way of giving back and helping Haddonfield remain the amazing place it is.

Why Financial Planning?

I believe that every financial decision should be driven by what you value. It is a simple philosophy, but one that takes careful planning, precision, and honest reflection to execute.

My path to financial planning began with a fascination for numbers and problem-solving. With a degree in Actuarial Science and over seven years of experience as a Data Analyst, I spent the early part of my career optimizing processes and turning complex data into clear, actionable stories. I loved the intellectual challenge of finding the answers hidden deep within the spreadsheets.

However, my true "why" crystallized when I became a father. The moment my son was born, I realized that financial stability is not just about a balance sheet; it is the most powerful tool we have to buy back our time. I discovered that the ultimate return on investment is the freedom to spend your life with the people who matter most.

This is what I bring to Wrought Financial Planning. I apply my analytical background to help clients cut through the noise and see their financial reality with absolute clarity. My goal is to help you use your wealth to build a life centered on your values, ensuring that your money is working as hard for your family as you do.

What is Lisa like outside of work?

While I was born and raised in Connecticut, I relocated to the Delaware Valley for college. After graduating from Villanova University, I worked in the Philadelphia/Bucks County area for several years before settling in South Jersey. For the past 20 years, I’ve lived in Haddonfield, NJ, with my husband, three children, and a very large dog named Duke.

When I'm not at Wrought, I enjoy taking on freelance graphic design projects, creating logos, posters, cards, and more for friends and colleagues. Our family stays busy with athletic and community events, and in my free time, I also love exploring our beautiful hometown, hiking, cooking, and traveling.

What is Brian like outside of work?

I grew up in South Jersey and currently call Sewell home, where I live with my wife Kayleigh, our energetic son Bryson, and our dog Amelia.

I am a firm believer that keeping the body moving is the key to keeping the mind clear. When I’m not at my desk, you can usually find me on the basketball court—not playing, but officiating. Reffing local high school basketball games is my favorite way to stay active, enjoy the game I love, and stay connected to the local sports community.

At home, life is a little less organized but a lot more fun. I spend most of my free time navigating an obstacle course of toy trucks and puzzle pieces with Bryson. Prioritizing my financial health has allowed me to be present for these small, chaotic, and beautiful moments, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
